It actually weakens their hand. they are free now they have freedom of action to continue this operation without any treaty linked obligation to respect Russian diplomacy and Russian diplomatic interventions etc . A security alliance with Russia would have been very limiting to Iran right now Iran is actually a stronger nation because they don\'t have such an alliance.
